Video and Blog Story Submissions
Call for Submissions and Stories (On-Going)
Please share your dance videos and stories with Doug Fox (doug@greatdance.com).
Your submissions and stories are considered for two purposes:
1) Doug Fox's on-going screening and educational programs
2) Posts on Great Dance
1) Screening and Educational Programs
These video screening programs focus on three main topics related to dance and movement:
- Dance and Animation
- Real-time dance and movement-based installations and performances
- Cutting-edge dance cinematography
Please view detailed overview of these programs.
If you would like your video work to be considered for these programs, please email Doug Fox an overview of what you do and your work, and include links to your online video if possible. Please do not email videos. If your videos are not online, please just send an introductory email and arrangements can be made for you to send your video files online or through the mail.
As a starting point, the quality and resolution of video is very important. However worthwhile the work, low resolution video usually cannot be shown.
Also, you must have full rights to the music included in your videos. If you do not have rights to the soundtrack, then it will probably not be possible to screen your video.
There are many types of videos that may be included in these programs such as animations, videos of dance and movement-based installations and performances that incorporate real-time interactivity, and videos that highlight cutting-edge techniques in cinematography.
For the educational programs, additional types of videos are especially valuable including videos that explore artistic inspirations and explorations; "making-of" clips; explanations of tools, techniques and technologies; and screen-cams of relevant software applications.
