NYC Great Dance Meetup Next Monday - May 18th
I hope readers in the New York City area can make it to the first Great Dance - Internet and Technology meetup on Monday, May 18th at 7:00 pm.
The title for this event is: "Promoting Dance Through Video and the Internet."
This meetup will take place at:
Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet
547 West 26 Street (between 10th and 11th avenues)
New York, NY 10001
Our first meetup will focus on free and inexpensive ways that dancers can use the Internet and technology to share their dancing with audiences, friends, students and others. And we'll also have an open forum for discussion and demonstrations of dance websites, blogs, social media applications and other Internet and technology resources for dancers.
The program guide and event details are available on: Meetup.com and Facebook.
Much thanks to our presenters who will be discussing and demonstrating free and low-cost approaches to sharing and promoting dance via the Internet:
- Malinda Ray Allen: Live video streaming with Ustream.
- Catherine Paull: Using Flip video cameras to create dance videos.
- Jody Sperling: How to use the latest Facebook features to communicate with dance audiences.
- Doug Fox: And I'll demonstrate how to use Twitter and apps such as TweetDeck
Hope to see you at the meetup on Monday!
