Back to Jazz and an Obvious Realization
Since I started dancing in my 40s, part of me wants to find a way to accelerate my dance training. But in the end, there clearly is no magical way to learn how to dance faster than people who start at a younger age. I just have to keep telling myself that.
It simply takes time. And given my dance interests, it requires taking lots of modern, jazz and ballet classes.
So after starting-up with modern classes again with Isabel Gotzkowsky at Dance New Amsterdam, I'm now going back to jazz classes. This Saturday I took a good jazz technique class with Nancy Koch at Steps on Broadway on the Upper West Side. I'll probably go back to her jazz classes after I finish the three Laban workshops I'm taking in August.
I'm always looking for suggestions for modern, jazz and ballet. If you have recommendations, please email or comment - thanks.
