George Mason Salsa Lock and Key Party
The Azucar George Mason salsa club did a great job having their salsa lock and key party . It was very well attended and DJ Andy and Latin Soul did nothing to disappoint the crowd. The party was a non stop dancing affair as DJ Andy and Latin Soul provided all the dance music you could ask for. This was just the beginning of things to come from the Azucar Salsa club from George Mason. I was so proud to to see a lot of my students that I have been teaching for a couple of weeks out on the floor doing their thing practicing their moves and the doing the most important thing of all, they all seemed to make a conscious effort to stay on beat. Cesar Vance the president of the Azucar club was a perfect host as he stayed on the dance floor and mingled with every one in attendance. A big salsa shout out to the Azucar Salsa Club from George Mason for the fabulous job they did for putting this event together. They provided refreshments , great music, a great facility and The officers of the GMU Azucar salsa club are all friendly, organized and first class.

First let me say this about the cruise . I was very disapointed with Royal Caribbean's service and not delivering on promises that were made to StuckOnSalsa. There were wrong room assignments , misrepresentations about balconies in rooms and all in all pretty Shabby Service. But despite all of this most of the people who wen on the cruise had a great time . The parties were awesome, the performances were great and the workshops were fabulous. We learned a lot on our first cruise and we will not make the same mistakes as this year , meaning we will not be on Royal Caribbean. Kelvin Harris my partner did a fabulous job of being the cruise director. He came across many problems but was able to rise above it all and make the cruise a very memorable experience for myself and others. I have to get some sleep right now, but I have a lot to post about the cruise and after my nap I will get back to posting

They are playing songs that no one wants to or can dance to and I think it is ridiculous with all the great dance songs that are out there. These Djs are playing for their self and not for the crowds and it has to stop right now! Also ssop with the mixing of songs, salsa songs should be played in full not chopped up like rap mixes

Club Five was great , H20 was awesome and Juste Lounge was great also. The performances at the H20 on Fridy night were spectacular. It seemed like all the good dancers in town were at the party. Everyone thought the installation of the wood floor made a big difference and the new all salsa format was really appreciated . The majority of salseros said hey had no problem coming back to dance at H20

Grand Opening of Juste Lounge

I went to the grand opening of Juste Lounge which used to be Thyme Out in Bethesda.
When I first went to the Thyme Out opening I was not happy but I knew my girl Eileen Torres would make the adjustments that needed to be made and I just had to be patient. We all have been in a bad mood around here after Yuca shut down the Latin Night and we really did not have a place that we felt comfortable to go out on Saturdays. Well Eileen has made the adjustments and then some. If you remember I was not happy when it was Thyme Out. The dance floor was very sticky and very small , The place was dark and again it seemed like I was at another place where they wanted to put salseros in a basment type atmosphere, I hated that about VIP THE LIGHTS WERE TOO DARK. I think people do not realize when you are dancing with some one you use a lot of hand signals but how can you see the signals if it seems like you are in a dark cave.where yo cant see a thing. Not only that how can I steal some one’s moves if I can barely see.

Well they have a brand new larger wood floor , The lights have brightened a bit , and hey have lovely leather couches spread out all around the room They have also added a stage for live music and Eileen is making sure the majority of music played is salsa , mambo and Cha Cha Cha , she is not like StuckOnSalsa who will not allow any merengue or Bachata to be played at their party, She will play a couple of merengues each set .

The Juste Lounge is now one of the hottest spots in the area in the area for salsa , they have good service, friendly staff, great parking and a owner who listens to what Eileen tells him . The ambiance is awesome and I think it is going to be a great success.

The grand opening had a great turnout as DJ Tony , DJ Bruno, and DJ Ricardo taking turns playing he danced music all night long.

Oh by the way Juste Lounge will be the third leg of the Fall Salsa Crawl
( A three night salsa party )sponsored by StuckOnSalsa , Latin Vip and Eileen Torres on Saturday October 15, 2005 stay tuned for more details for Fall Salsa Crawl Updates log on to http://STUCKONSALSA.COM
