Eva Yaa Asantewaa

Eva Yaa Asantewaa has been published as a dance critic and journalist since 1976 in Dance Magazine, Soho News, The Village Voice, The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Gay City News. She has just completed her second year as a member of the Bessie (New York Dance and Performance) Awards committee. As a
WBAI radio producer and host (1987-89), she was a member of the Women's Radio Collective and the Gay and Lesbian Independent Broadcasters Collective as well as co-host of the Tuesday Afternoon Arts Magazine. Her poetry and essays have appeared in various journals and anthologies, most recently Spirited: Affirming the Soul and Black Gay/Lesbian Identity and Voices Rising: Celebrating 20 Years of Black Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Writing, both published by Redbone Press.
Eva teaches a course on writing about dance for Dance Theater Workshop. She writes the dance/metaphysics blog, InfiniteBody and the psychic/metaphysics blog, hummingwitch. |
